The Khiladi of Bollywood industry Akshay Kumar along with his wife, actor turned writer Twinkle Khanna were witnessed in Nation's Capital Delhi for the promotion of their movie 'Pad Man'. Along with them actress Radhika Apte, the director of the film R Balki and the guy behind the real story Arunachalam Muruganatham were also present in the event. The inspirational movie is set for its release, therefore the entire team found interacting with media on the press conference held in PVR Plaza, Connaught Place.

   Written and directed by R. Balki, the movie also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles. 'Pad Man, produced by Twinkle Khanna, based on "The Sanitary Man of Sacred Land" a short story from her book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad, is inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu. A welder by trade, he set about creating reasonable sanitary pads after discovering that his wife, Shanthi, had been using dirty rags during her periods.

   Well, Akshay Kumar will be found portraying Arunachalam Muruganantham, also known as "India's Menstrual Man". Therefore, while talking to media Akshay stated, “I feel like, after the release of this movie, there will be no hesitation in people about this biological cycle. I hope this film will be successful to bring changes in society.  And I would request our government to make sanitary napkins free of cost in rural areas in our country.” Further, he added, “People should be aware of this natural cycle, in India, 82% of ladies don’t use pads, I am sure and very much confident that there will be a good change in people after watching this film.”

   On the other hand, Twinkle Khanna stated, “the biggest challenge or you can say contribution for me was to convince Akshay for this movie, it took 9 months to convince him for the same, it’s a strong film, and I will congratulate the director of the film for making this happen for us.”

   The music of the film has been composed by Amit Trivedi while the lyrics have been written by Kausar Munir. Featured under the banner of Columbia Pictures, MMrs Funnybones Movies, this menstruation based awareness movie is slated to release this coming 9th of February.
