Inner Wheel Members' Spirit of Independence-Day to be Emulated
Keeping with the spirit of 'Independence Day' - of being compassionate towards fellow citizens of the country, on the Independence Day members of the Inner Wheel Club of Delhi Midtown, Distt 301 distributed 'nutritional food ' kits to around hundred pregnant women & refreshments to about 200 children from an underprivileged neglected JJ cluster.
In her speech President Vijaya Bansal of Inner Wheel Club of Delhi Midtown, Distt 301 said, "Being pregnant is a divine blissful feeling. It cannot be understood by anyone else. But nutritional care is important part of the pre-delivery as well as post delivery process. Ladies have to intake sufficient amount of nutritious food during this period. That's why we are distributing nutritional food to these underprivileged pregnant ladies so that they give birth healthy child -which is the treasure trove of the nation."
Present on the occasion were IIWP Dr Kapila Gupta & DC Gita Dhawan, AC member Renu Gupta & Distt Secretary Madhu Nagpal ,Promotion Committee Chairperson Urvashi Mittal, Club Secretary Neena Jain, PDC Manju Vaish, Pushpa Bhargava & Manju Mittal ,Club members & Ms Jean Cadwallader-Foundation Chair Rotary International Distt 7170,from New York.
Over the years Mrs Manju Vaish has been taking a keen interest in such humanitarian and philanthropic work. "We are very grateful to Manju Vaish Ma'm for her keen interest and compassion towards the ladies and children of this colony. From last several years, she has been consistently working in this area. She is now a well-known figure among the people here in this area," said Rachna Chug, a local lady of the area.
"The children presented entertainment programme including skit, song & dance with mind-blowing formations as if they were well trained by a professional choreographer. Their enthusiasm & energy brought smiles on everyone's face even in the scorching heat," said Urvashi Mittal, Chairperson Promotion Committee IW District 301.
