On 21 June 2017 Second Innings- a first of its kind centre for senior citizens created by Punam Soni, had invited noted Social activist Ravi Kalra. Ravi Kalra was welcomed by Dr Umesh Sahgal and  Harbans Lal basin with a copy of Bhagwat Gita and a biography of O.P. Munjal. In his speech, Ravi Kalra said how he first created a Gurukul for the street children and later on it turned into an asylum for the abandoned senior citizens from the respectable family.

" When we established this Gurukul we used to keep people abandoned by their families and laying on the street. But later on, we rescued senior citizen hailing from very respectable families. Even children of IAS officer, Supreme Court Judge, Defence Officers after seizing their parents' property and money,  dump their old mother and father on the street.  We have rescued hundreds of such people and given them shelter in our Gurukul free of cost. There is total degradation of the moral values." said Ravi Kalra.
