Autobiography of Padamshree R.S.Lugani Presented to President of India
Padamshree R.S.Lugani, the Managing Trustee of Gurugram Public School, on 13th December 2016, presented his autobiography “Life….A Mathematical Error” published by Pitambar Publishing Co. Pvt. Ltd. to Sh. Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India. He appreciated the efforts and good work of Sh. R.S.Lugani. In his book he looks back at his shortcomings as any other normal human being and tells us of how he was able to cope with them, coming out triumphant on most occasions.
He is considered to be one of the most recognised educationists of India. He has come with this autobiography and recently and in his book he has traced his journey of the go years of life. The struggle he had done in life.
Born and brought up at Bhopalwala district, Sialkot (now in Pakistan), Sh. R.S.Lugani completed BT DPE, B.Ed. He was awarded the National Science Foundation Scholarship in 1963-64 for his studies at the University of Washington.He has travelled abroad extensively and visited schools in the USA, UK, West Germany, France and Russia. He had been a visiting lecturer at Manchester Grammer School, one of the top academic schools during the year 1970-71. All his wide experience in life has been nicely scripted in the autobiography.
He was Principal of Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram from 1978 to 1992. During these years he steered and led the school to become a pace setter and be recognised as the top most school for imparting quality education. He has been associated with three most famous institutions DPS, Mathura Road, DPS, R.K.Puran and DPS, Vasant Kunj as Principal during his tenure. He won State Award for Education- Delhi State in 1982 and the National Award for Teachers in 1985. He was accorded the Padmashree Award in 1992 by the then President of India, Shri R.Venkatraman. He is now the Managing Trustee of Gurugram Public School, Sec-55 and Sec-62, Gurugram.
Despite his ripe age, every day he commutes from Delhi to Gurgaon to look after the schools located in Gurgaon. He is also very spiritual and regularly distributes books on moral studies and Bhagawat Gita to children free of cost.
