Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil  is inching slowly towards the INR 100-crore club.  The film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma has already collected INR 80.19 Cr in the domestic market. The movie's first-week collection is the 2nd highest after Sultan  starring Salman Khan.

Even the  overseas performance of the film is equally impressive. The film  has collected INR 54.71 Cr internationally. It is also the second highest first-week collection after Sultan.

Taran Adarsh, trade analyst ADHM Fri INR 13.30 Cr, Sat INR 13.10 Cr, Sun  INR 9.20 Cr, Mon INR 17.75 Cr, Tue  INR 13.03 Cr, Wed INR7.63 Cr, Thu INR  6.18 Cr. Total: INR  80.19 Cr.

 Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which also stars Fawad Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is also performing equally well on weekdays with the film earning INR 17.75 Cr and INR 13.03 Cr on Monday and Tuesday each.

After the MNS episode, the film is again in another controversy.  Now the film is now in the centre of attention for making fun of Mohammad Rafi, the legendary singer. The movie has called upon itself the wrath of many million of Rafi fans. Rafi fans in several parts of the country have demonstrated and brought candle light march.

Mohammed Rafi’s son Shahid Rafi has slammed director Karan Johar for insulting his  father in the movie. Disco king Bappi Lahiri and singer Sonu Nigam have condemned for mentioning the singer derogatorily. In one of the dialogues Anushka Sharma  in the film tells Ranbir Kapoor’s character, “Mohammad Rafi? Woh gaate kam rote zyada the na?”
